These days with so many ingredients both natural and synthetic that goes into our skin care products, it is good to have at least some idea what they key ingredients are and the role they play. Equipped with this knowledge, you can at least narrow down your search when buying skin care products or to identifiy certain ingredients that may cause some allergic reactions to your skin.

Coenzyme Q10 – Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ 10) also called ubiquinone is essentially a vitamin like substance that is necessary for the functioning of cells. It’s a powerful antioxidant that plays big role in energy production. Making it effective in preventing damage to collagen and elastin production and helping you avoid wrinkles. Prevage is a popular department store skin care cream using Coenzyme Q10 (Idebenone) as it’s main ingredient.

Other skin care ingredients can help with dry and wrinkled skin, but the best they can do is moisturize. Even though many have vitamins, even that is iffy. The best skin care ingredients are the ones that moisturize the skin to help it remain moist and supple. Though this might not take care of wrinkles, there really isn’t much yet that can. The best way to avoid these its to take care of the skin from within with a good diet and by drinking plenty of water.

Besides a great moisturizer, you want your skin care ingredients to include something like aloe in some cases. Aloe is great for the skin, and can help sooth a sunburn. If you can find a great skin care lotion that has sun screen in it, this is a plus as well. This can help keep sun from damaging the skin, and that is one way to prevent some wrinkles in the first place.

These are a few of the most important ingredients in skin care products. If you have any skin problems, there are skin care products that can help you with those specific problems. Many of the ingredients listed above can also be found in supplements and various foods. The next time you are buying skin care products, look for the ingredients list and see if they have any of the vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants listed above. If they do, you know that your skin will be benefiting by the skin care product.
