If your plan to get six pack abs is to do a lot of six pack abs exercises you are on the wrong path to success. Focused abs training is only a small ingredient in the six pack abs game. You may have developed one of the strongest abs in the world. If you are still covered in body fat, you want get the credits for your hard work.

There are three major factors involved in developing great six pack abs. Cardio exercising is important. You also got to increase your overall body muscle mass. Both of these will help you increase your metabolism. This article will focus on the third factor, dieting. Together with exercising you are bound to see results fast.

Dieting might sound hard and boring. How many times have you not tried a new diet only to fail a few days or months later ending up growing the weight back? Dieting is not about fancy tricks or starvation. It is about increasing your metabolism and only eat what you need to grow and stay strong. Change your diet slowly by taking food from your diet today and change it with a healthier alternative.

To keep you metabolism running high all day I recommend 5 to 6 meals. When you eat that on a regular basis you body will always have some food to work with to build you stronger. Your body will also know that it will not be starving so it will stop saving extra fat for harder times.

When you eat five or six portions of food each day you will never go hungry. Have one third of each food group: proteins, carbs and vegetables/fruit. Each of the three groups should be about the size of a handful. With this measurement the portions will fit your body size.

Since you are now eating every two – three hour it is important that you plan your meals. It is always a good idea to make food twice the size of a recommended meal and store half of it for a later meal. It is also important that you have a backup meal for when it is hard to get hold on a portion of healthy food.

Protein rich food is important when you want to grow muscles. If you have read an article mentioning proteins you will know that they are the building blocks of your muscles. Lean meats, fish, turkey and chicken are protein rich. Beans, lentils, grains, nuts and seeds are also rich in protein. If hard, use a protein shake instead of one of the day’s portions of proteins.

Vegetables and fruits are also important. They will help you stay healthy while working out. They are also excellent stomach fillers to help you stay away from eating unhealthy food or too much meat or carbs.
